The mirror is one of the few pieces in a hotel room that the guest uses every day without exception: in the morning to get dressed, before going out to check their look, in the evening to remove make-up. And yet it’s almost always the element given the least attention at the design stage: a mirror gets hung on whatever free wall is available, in whatever size fits, without thinking about the right height for guests, the light available at that spot, or the distance from the bed and wardrobe. The result is mirrors too high for shorter guests, too small to see a full outfit, positioned in dark corners where natural light never reaches. We create bespoke mirrors for hotels in the dimensions and frames you need, wall-mounted or freestanding, with or without integrated lighting, coordinated with the rest of the room’s furniture. Delivery and installation are included worldwide.

Wall mirror
The base model for single and double rooms: rectangular mirror with a solid wood frame or painted metal profile, standard dimensions 60×120 cm, wall fixing with reinforced bracket. Can be coordinated in finish with the wardrobe, desk and bedside tables. The solution for properties that want a functional, well-built mirror without any particular design flourishes.
Full-height mirror
For rooms where the guest wants to see their whole outfit before going out: height from 160 to 200 cm, width from 50 to 80 cm. A size that lets any guest, regardless of height, see themselves top to bottom without having to step back. Wall fixing with double reinforced bracket, solid wood frame or slim metal profile. Much requested in rooms without a mirror on the wardrobe door.
Framed mirror
For boutique hotels, characterful properties and rooms with a considered visual identity: hand-worked solid wood frame, available in different shapes and profiles, from the most essential to the most elaborate. A mirror that defines the room’s character rather than completing it neutrally. Available in any bespoke size, with a frame that can be customised around the property’s visual identity.
Illuminated mirror
For rooms where the make-up area needs dedicated light: perimeter or side LED lighting integrated into the frame, neutral 4000K light that doesn’t alter colour perception. Switch independent from the room’s main lighting. Much requested in suites and superior rooms where the guest expects a functional make-up area. Low energy consumption, estimated LED lifespan over 30,000 hours.
Floor mirror
For suites and high-profile rooms where you want a full-height mirror without drilling into the wall: self-supporting base in solid wood or metal, mirror tiltable by around 5 degrees upward for a more natural view of the whole figure. Total height from 160 to 190 cm, width from 50 to 70 cm. An element that, in room photos, conveys attention to detail without requiring any work on the wall.
Integrated mirror
Full-height mirror mounted on the wardrobe’s outer door: it removes the need for a separate wall mirror, makes the room feel larger thanks to the reflected light, and frees up the wall for other uses. The mirror panel’s width matches the door’s width, from 40 to 70 cm. Made together with the wardrobe as a coordinated system, or added to existing wardrobes from the same production run.
Choosing where to position the mirror in a hotel room
The most common problem with mirrors in Italian hotel rooms isn’t size: it’s position. A mirror placed on a wall that gets no natural light forces the guest to see themselves under the room’s artificial ceiling light, which in many rooms is a warm overhead light that casts shadows on the face and isn’t suited to applying make-up or checking your appearance. A mirror placed too high, at 180 cm from the floor, is useless for an average-height guest who has to tilt their head up to see their face and can’t see their whole outfit. A mirror placed behind the door is practically invisible for the entire stay.
The ideal position for a hotel room’s main mirror is on a wall lit by natural light from a side window, at a height that lets an average-height adult see themselves top to bottom without stepping back: the bottom edge around 20-25 cm from the floor, the top edge around 180-190 cm. This position works for 90% of adult guests with no adjustments needed.
When a lit wall isn’t available, the solution is to integrate lighting into the mirror itself: side or perimeter LEDs with neutral light that simulates natural daylight and lets guests see themselves realistically regardless of where the mirror sits in the room. Our free site survey lets us assess the best position on the actual floor plan, taking into account the distribution of natural light and the position of the other furniture.
Dimensions and measurements for hotel mirrors
A standard hotel room needs at least two mirror points with different functions: a large mirror to check the whole outfit, and a small mirror near the strongest light source for facial detail. In most standard rooms, the second mirror is in the bathroom: the guest applies make-up or shaves there and uses the room mirror only for the overall look. In this case, a full-height mirror in the room is enough.
In suites and superior rooms where the guest expects a dedicated make-up area in the sleeping zone, a mirror with integrated lighting in the room becomes necessary: bathroom light isn’t always suited to careful make-up application, and a guest applying make-up in the room needs specific lighting and a mirror at the right distance from the face.
The minimum dimensions we recommend for a room’s main mirror are 60×120 cm: below this size, the mirror is too small to see a whole outfit satisfactorily. For rooms where the guest wants to see their full figure, the right size is at least 60×160 cm. For suites where the mirror is a furnishing element as well as a functional one, dimensions up to 80×200 cm with a solid wood frame are the choice that conveys the property’s level of care.
Frames and finishes for hotel mirrors
The mirror is one of the few furnishing elements in a hotel room that’s visible from anywhere in the space. That’s why its frame has a visual impact disproportionate to its physical size. A solid wood frame finished to match the wardrobe makes the room look carefully designed. A cheap chrome-plastic frame that doesn’t coordinate with anything makes the room look thrown together in a hurry.
For properties that already have furniture in a set finish, the mirror frame has to be made in the same finish: same colour, same texture, same type of material. It doesn’t necessarily have to be identical, but it has to speak to the rest of the furniture instead of ignoring it. For properties designing from scratch, the mirror frame is one of the elements worth investing in when it comes to customisation.
A bespoke solid wood frame, with a profile that echoes the wardrobe handles or the bed’s headboard, creates a visual coherence guests notice even without consciously analysing it. It’s the kind of detail that goes unnoticed when it’s there, but is noticed when it’s missing. We make solid wood frames in the same 15 standard finishes as the room furniture, and from dedicated samples for properties with a bespoke colour palette. The frame’s profile is defined during the site survey based on the property’s visual identity and the choices made for the rest of the furniture.
FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Do you make mirrors to the exact dimensions of the available wall?
Yes. Every mirror is made to the dimensions specified, with a tolerance of 1 cm. For mirrors that need to fill an entire wall or a specific alcove, measurements are taken during the free site survey.
Does the mirror with LED lighting require an electrician for installation?
Yes. A mirror with integrated lighting needs a connection to the room’s electrical network, which must be carried out by a qualified electrician. We check during the site survey whether a socket or light point is available at the chosen position for the mirror.
Is it possible to add a mirror to an already installed wardrobe?
It depends on the structure of the existing door. If the wardrobe is one we supplied, we can add a mirror to the existing door or replace the door with a version that has an integrated mirror. For wardrobes from other suppliers, we assess feasibility case by case.
Is the wall fixing for large mirrors safe for guests who might lean on them?
Yes. The fixings we use for large mirrors are sized to bear the mirror’s weight multiplied by a safety coefficient that accounts for accidental pushes. The specific fixing is chosen based on the mirror’s weight and the wall’s construction, which we verify during the site survey.
How long does it take to produce and deliver a bespoke mirror?
Production takes around 3-4 weeks from order confirmation. Delivery and installation are included worldwide.
Do you make mirrors that coordinate with furniture from other suppliers?
Yes. If you provide a sample of the existing finish, we make the mirror frame in the closest available match among our 15 standard finishes or on a dedicated sample.
