Anyone looking for affordable hotel furniture has usually already run the numbers twice and found they don’t add up. The budget is there, but it isn’t enough for what they’d like. Or they tried to save money on something, and now they’re having to buy it again.
We’ve worked with hospitality businesses for over fifty years. In all that time, the profile of the client looking for “affordable furniture” has changed very little: a serious hotelier, not a big spender, who wants to spend wisely rather than spend little.

“Affordable” in contract furnishing doesn’t mean what you think
A piece of hotel furniture is used by hundreds of people a year, by anyone, and has to hold up just as well in year three as in year one. It’s the intensity of that use that decides what really matters, far more than the list price.
When a hotel wardrobe costs €180, you’re buying it twice: once now, and again in three years when the hinges give way, the finish lifts, and guests start leaving reviews about how it looks “old and neglected”. That’s the cost you don’t see on the quote, but you certainly pay for it.
In our industry, affordable means this: total cost over five years divided by the number of rooms. Those who buy well the first time usually spend less than those who buy the wrong thing three times over.
That said, some businesses genuinely work with tight budgets: newly opened B&Bs, farmhouse hotels renovating one room at a time, two-star hotels that can’t afford to do everything in one go. For those situations there are concrete solutions, not compromises, but priorities.

How much affordable furniture costs for fitting out a hotel
Searching online, you’ll find very little real data on hotel furnishing costs. Everyone talks about a “bespoke quote” without giving even a rough figure. At Arredamento Hotel we do, because we believe it’s the right thing to do.
These are the ranges for a complete room with professional-quality contract furniture, sourced through a direct supply chain. The room includes a double bed or single beds, headboard, bedside tables, wardrobe, desk, luggage rack and mirror:
| Type of business | Complete room (indicative) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Simple-style B&B / farmhouse hotel | €1,800 - 2,600 | Functional, hard-wearing, standard finishes |
| 2-star hotel | €2,400 - 3,800 | Basic contract range, certified fire-retardant materials |
| 3-star hotel | €3,500 - 5,500 | Coordinated design, mid-to-high finishes |
| 4-star hotel | €5,500 - 9,000 and above | Made to measure, fine finishes, full customisation |
On top of this you may need to add bathroom furniture, furnishings for common areas including the reception, breakfast room and outdoor spaces, plus installation, which in our case is included worldwide.
These figures aren’t the lowest possible price. They’re the reasonable minimum for not having to buy again in three years.

Where you can save, and where you can’t
Not all the furniture in a hotel room wears at the same rate. There’s a hierarchy, and knowing it helps you understand where to focus the budget and where you can cut back without consequences.
Don’t cut costs on the bed. It’s the piece of furniture the guest spends the most hours on. A divan bed that sags, a headboard that comes loose, a base that creaks: these are problems that go straight into reviews. The bed needs to be fire-retardant, certified, and built to withstand years of heavy use. This is spending that’s always justified.
The wardrobe can be optimised, but sensibly. A wardrobe with simpler external finishes, without mirrored doors or designer handles, can cost considerably less while keeping the same structural solidity. The hinges always need to be good quality: we use Blum soft-close hinges, and that’s not a luxury detail, it’s the difference between a door that lasts and one that works loose after six months.
There’s room to manoeuvre on the desk and the luggage rack. These are functional pieces that take less strain. You can choose a simple design with standard finishes and the visual result is still clean.
With bedside tables it depends. If the guest just rests their charger, glass of water and phone on it, a simple one will do. If you want a room with a certain level of finish, the bedside table is part of the overall image.
Don’t cut corners on bathroom furniture. In a bathroom in constant use, damp is the critical factor and acts fast. Bathroom furniture for hotel use has specific treatments that stand up to moisture over time, and the difference shows after twelve months.

Direct supply chain: why it cuts costs without cutting quality
We produce through a supply chain of selected Italian workshops, with a single point of contact from the site survey to final inspection. This means that between whoever makes the furniture and whoever brings it into your room, there’s no one adding their own margin.
In the contract furnishing sector, the typical supply chain is: workshop, agent, distributor, retailer. Each of these steps adds between 15 and 30% to the final price. Buying directly removes those layers. Not because you give up quality, but because the margin stays where it should: in the quality of the product, not in the distribution network.
This is probably the most effective way to get serious hotel furniture at a reasonable price: not buying less, but buying directly.
How the turnkey service works
The turnkey service starts with a free site visit to the property. Our team measures the actual rooms, not the square metres on the cadastral floor plan, which rarely match what’s really there. Those measurements produce the technical drawings and, if needed, 3D renders of the furnished rooms.
Only then do we talk numbers. The quote is detailed, item by item, with production and delivery times. Average production takes 4 to 6 weeks from order confirmation. Installation is included and coordinated with the property’s calendar so as not to disrupt guests.
New clients receive a 15% discount on their first order.

Frequently asked questions
What’s the minimum number of rooms to place an order?
There’s no formal minimum. We work with businesses renovating one room at a time and with hotels refurbishing 60 rooms in a season. The quote and site visit are free regardless of volume.
Is the furniture fire-retardant?
Yes. All products comply with fire safety regulations for hospitality businesses. Certifications are available on request and included in the documentation delivered at the end of the works.
How long does it take from order confirmation to installation?
On average 4 to 6 weeks for production, plus transport time and installation planning. For businesses with calendar constraints, we plan from the outset to meet the dates.
Do you also do single items? I need to replace the wardrobes in 10 rooms.
Yes. You can also order by furniture type across several rooms, not necessarily a complete furnishing package.
Do the prices shown include installation?
Installation is included worldwide. There are no surprises on the final quote: what’s confirmed is what you pay.
Can I see something similar to what I’d like to do?
On the site you’ll find examples by type of business and type of room. For businesses with specific needs, we arrange visits to completed properties, subject to agreement with the owners.
My property is outside the major cities, do you still come?
Yes. We work with Italian workshops and install worldwide, including the islands.
